Crisis Ahead

Crisis

I came across an interesting quote that was found on thepowerpath.com that contains a lot of wisdom:

“The definition of Crisis comes from the word ‘to decide’. It is an intense time or turning point where a decision is made. There is a decisive point where change takes place. There is always an action component to crisis, and often a need to make a choice that influences the course of action. In a healing crisis we either get better or worse, sometimes depending on that choice.  In a financial crisis we may need to make hard decisions that change your usual habit and patterns. In a relationship crisis you may be forced to look at some truths and make choices that produce a change. A health crisis is often a wakeup call to change something significant in your life that puts you on a different path.”

When we hear the word crisis it often brings up a negative response. In truth crisis is often the catalyst for much needed change and supporting movement and necessary and positive evolution. Our physical nature is designed to respond with reaction and action. The instinctive response of fight or flight. Crisis often brings us fear.  If we can work through the fear, there is power on the other side. This month is first one to act proactively with the theme of crisis and to use it as a catalyst for making whatever change is needed instead of being crippled by the fear that it may temporarily produce.

We all will experience periods of ‘crisis’ in our lives. These may come on gradually or suddenly. When it comes to making the necessary decisions during these periods it is so important to listen. Listen to our intuition, that still small voice that comes to us in quiet meditative moments.  The answer may not come immediately but if we keep asking and listening we will receive the guidance as to what is the right choice and action that needs to be taken when we come to these crossroads in our lives.  It is only then that our decision will catalyze growth that ultimately put us in a position to better fulfill our purpose in life.
