How to disinfect your salad properly.

How To Disinfect Your Salad

Most people recognize that uncooked or under cooked meat can harbor disease- causing microbes, such as E.coli. But theydon’t realize that raw fruits and vegetables pose an equal if not greater threat than meat. For example, one study found that 39 samples of fresh bean sprouts harbored E. coli.

Just rinsing your produce in water and detergent does little to remove the contaminants. If however, you mist your produce with vinegar and then hydrogen peroxide you would be killing virtually 100% of all microbes. This combination also effectively cleans cutting boards and kitchen counters.
