BENEFITS OF 30 MINUTES OF EXERCISE

How many times do you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock in the morning? You know that you’re not getting any more sleep during that time, yet you hit the button anyways. But, what could you do if you got up instead? How could you change the course of your day, and over time, the course of your life? How many times do you hit the snooze button on your alarm clock in the morning? You know that you’re not getting any more sleep during that time, yet you hit the button anyways. But, what could you do if you got up instead? How could you change the course of your day, and over time, the course of your life?

In the same ten minutes that you would normally spend hitting the snooze button two or three more times, you can do something positive and effective for your health and wellbeing. Research shows that exercising for ten minutes, three times a day, gives you the same benefits as a single 30-minute session. Why not knock out your first session right away in the morning? Here are some suggestions to get you started.

TIPS FOR STARTING THE DAY OFF RIGHT

  • Take a brisk walk outside in the early morning sun. You’ll also get your Vitamin D for the day.
  • Bounce on a mini trampoline or rebounder to help circulate the fluid in your lymph system, the clean-up system of the body.
  • Move through a short stretching or yoga routine to improve strength and flexibility.
  • Use dumbbells to complete a few sets of resistance training moves that target your upper or lower body. This also helps build muscle and burn more calories throughout the day.
  • Sit quietly, and focus your attention on your breathing to start the day in a calm and relaxed state of mind. Meditation is actually that simple.
