Current Research On Acupuncture

The National Institutes of Health is spending millions of dollars on acupuncture research. In 1997 it convened a consensus conference reviewing over 2300 research papers on acupuncture, determining that there is clear evidence for some uses of acupuncture, and is appropriate as part of comprehensive care in many medical conditions. Chairperson Dr. David Ramsay stated, “There are a number of situations where it really does in fact, work – the evidence is very clear-cut. It has few side effects and is less invasive than many other things we do. It is time to take it seriously.”

I have found acupuncture very effective in treating most chronic conditions including fatigue, migraines, GERD, painful menses, constipation, insomnia, urinary frequency, benign prostate hypertrophy and of course chronic pain.
