Researchers in Berlin, Germany have studied the effects of Arnica on patients who underwent arthroscopic knee surgery because of knee disease. They gave a 30x dilution of Arnica before the surgery and also daily afterwards. They also took before and after measurements of the circumference of the knee. In three separate trials, patients receiving Arnica showed a trend toward less post-operative swelling compared to those receiving placebo.
I strongly recommend to all my patients undergoing surgery to use Arnica after surgery to speed up recovery.
