Allergies can be tough to deal with.

It Is Hard

These were the first words out of Nicole’s (31 year old) mouth as she sat down for her initial evaluation. She continues,” The minute I go off prednisone I cannot breath. I will wean off it for a week or two then have to go back on it. I’ve been on prednisone for 20 years. I was 10 when it started.

I have always had allergies since I was really little. My parents started me on allergy shots. Around cats the eyes swell shut and I sneeze . Right now I am on a gluten free diet. I have continuous sinus congestion -I just can’t breath through my nose. The three sinus surgeries that I had for polyps were effective for only 2-3 months at the most.”

Nicole’s history is pretty classical for fungal sinusitis. I started her on both prescription and natural anti-fungal therapy and supplements to boost her immune system. In just 3 weeks she returned commenting, ” Feeling really good. Better than have felt in a long time. Breathing has been great even with the wind. I Have been running, which I have never done in my whole life. No sinus headaches.”

Although allopathic medicine is very effective in treating the acute “breathing attacks” of asthma it has very little to offer asthma sufferers when it comes curing the problem.
Often times if the underlying cause can be treated (which in Nicole’s case was fungal infection) cures are possible.
